The Iceland Swim
When Gym King endurance athlete Ross Edgley committed to swimming the entire coastline of Iceland, he wasn’t just chasing a physical milestone, he was putting mindset on trial.
A 1,000-mile (≈1,610 km) odyssey of ice, salt and fast-moving currents capable of pulling even strong swimmers off course. Day after day. Storm after storm. The kind of challenge that doesn’t just test the body, it tests what you believe you’re made of.
Ross set off from Garðskagi Lighthouse (64°05.00’ N, 22°41.11’ W) in May, returning to Nauthólsvík Beach, Reykjavík four months later, swimming clockwise around Iceland through churning seas, ice-cold conditions, and injuries severe enough to break most people.
He finished, because Nothing Beats Belief.
