Garment Tech Admin Assistant
Function: Garment Tech
Responsibility: Supporting the Garment Tech team in day-to-day tasks
Reports to: Garment Tech Manager
Location: Leeds (Colton) 2mins from Junction 46 – M1, 20mins from Leeds Station
Compensation: Dependant on experience
Gym King has a rare and exciting opportunity for a Garment Tech Admin Assistant to join our team in Leeds. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the garment tech team in their day to day tasks.
Reporting to the Garment Tech Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate (or similar) to gain and grow their knowledge and experience of garment tech/construction in a supportive environment.
The successful applicant will possess a sound understanding of garment construction, ensuring the initial design concept is successfully translated into a product that can be effectively communicated and meet our customer’s needs.
We are looking for someone with the determination, collaboration, and self- motivation skills to succeed in this fast-paced and dynamic role. You will be supported and encouraged to take ownership of your work, while also working collaboratively with other team members to achieve our collective goals.
Key Roles and Responsibilities.
• Day to day help with all administrative duties within the team
• Thorough checks of all samples submitted across all development stages
• Measure all samples received and update workbook findings
• Preparing for fit sessions and attending fit sessions
• Assist in writing fit session notes
• Model management for fit sessions
• Helping the team to collate and assess fabric testing.
• Liaising with factories regarding fabric failures
• Chasing of test reports and production AQL’s
• Update critical path and tracking spreadsheets to ensure product is delivered on time
• Ensure all technical files are kept up to date
• Maintaining a neat and tidy workplace that provides optimal workflow.
Experience / Credentials
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic knowledge of garment construction and pattern cutting
• An educational background in pattern cutting, clothing technology, production or similar.
• Basic understanding of fabric testing
• Highly organized with a good attention to detail
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
• A confident , proactive approach capable of working effectively independently and in a team under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to interact effectively with suppliers and colleagues at all levels

Working hours: Due to the nature of this role, the hours will be full time (37.5 hours per week) Monday-Friday, although a flexible approach is required.
Location: This role is based at Unit 6 Temple Point, Bullerthorpe Lane, Colton, Leeds LS15 9JL. 2 minutes off the M1 J46. Hybrid working will be considered. There will be a requirement to travel as part of this role.
