Kaz Crossley - The New Gym King Ambassador

We’re really excited to announce Kaz Crossley as Gym Kings newest ambassador. Kaz embodies our core values, resilient in handling online pressures with ease, a strong mindset, always giving everything 100%, and continually puts her followers / community first. We asked Kaz 17 questions, ranging from love island to Muay Thai.

Hi Kaz, thank you so much for speaking with us!

Q: A few quick ones to start, for people who may not know you, how would you describe yourself best in 3 words?

A: My friends would agree, I’m very honest, loving and defo spontaneous!

Q: Spontaneity is one of the best qualities! So what does your morning routine look like?

A: As soon as I wake up I need my COFFEEEE!

Q: We fully support that! Who would you say is your biggest inspiration?

A: My biggest inspiration are my kids in Thailand, they teach me to be happy and grateful everyday

Q: If you didn’t know, Kaz had set up a Go Get Funding page for Watthana, which helps at-risk youth change their path in life. If you’d like to read more about it, click here.

So going back to the start, what was life before Love Island like?

A: It was fun! I used to party, and go out quite a lot. I also travelled a lot!

Q: Do you still do freelance makeup from time to time?

A: No, I only help my friends occasionally, I enjoy that though

Q: I bet they enjoy it as much as you do! What's one beauty hack that has stayed with you over the years?

A: I do love bio-oil, I put it everywhere even on my face before bed!

Q: That’s one we’re going to have to add into our routine! How did Love Island approach you? And how was the experience in 3 words?

A: They approached me on Instagram, but I was in Thailand so I did my interview over Skype! Three words; SURREAL, CRAZY, LIFE CHANGING

Q: Do you think Love Island has changed over the years? Would you still go on the show now in comparison to when you were asked to?

A: I think it has changed just like anything would do over a long period of time, but yes I would still go on it as I do think it's still a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Q: After the show, how did you handle the pressure and exposure that came with being a part of it?

A: It was so hard to handle it, I was in shock for about a month. Looking back now it all feels like a blur!

Q: We can’t even imagine! We read that before you went on the show you went travelling to Thailand. What was your favourite thing about it?

A: The food, the people, all the different islands… There’s so much to explore, it's really beautiful!

Q:  Bit of a change in topic, what has it been like going through different career paths in a short amount of time? And is there any advice you would give to aspiring business owners from what you’ve learnt through KazBands?

A: Honestly its been a journey but I am so happy to be where I am now! I’ve realised that you need to do what makes you happy. It’s so important. And when you find something you’re really passionate about, everyday won’t even feel like work!

Q: Going back to Watthana, Muay Thai is a big part of your life. How did you get into it?

A: I went through a breakup, and decided to get my butt to training camp in Thailand (obvs haha). Thailand was my happy place, but I didn’t realise how much it would make me fall in love with Muay Thai.

Q: We read your Go Get Funding Bio, and it's an amazing cause. How did you meet Frances and Boom?

A: I had been following @watthanaya on Insta for a while, the kids were so inspiring and they train so hard. I reached out to Frances to come and visit and the rest is history!

Q: After the page reaches its goal (which it has!) and the house is built, what will be the next steps for them and the children?

A: I want to make a community that the kids and their families can earn a living in. I'm hoping to next build volunteer housing, so people can volunteer, visit and maybe teach English. The volunteers could also pay for training at the gym. I want to make it sustainable for them, and for generations to come.

Q: We can’t wait to see all of this come together. How do you stay motivated and keep a work - life balance with everything you do?

A: Not everyday is easy, sometimes I do find it hard to stay motivated. Life has many distractions,  and can throw you off balance. The main thing is staying in the right direction, I take every day as it comes :)

Q: That’s a quote to live by! If you could say one thing to your followers what would it be?

A: Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give! I would also like to thank everyone who has supported my journey and is still following me three years on :)

Q: Finally, what does the future hold for Kaz Crossley?

A: Of course I want to expand my KazBands business, and branch out into different things! In the near future, I would like to start a community empowering women through Muay Thai. It is a very male dominated spot and a lot of girls message me hoping to start, but not having the confidence to do so. I hope to give more people confidence, as they are missing out on an amazing sport!

We want to say another massive thank you to Kaz, and we hope you’re as excited as we are about her being a GK Ambassador. If you want to view Kaz’s edit on our website click here and stay tuned for more to come!

We hope you’re having a great week, and we know whatever you’re doing with the right mindset and resilience you’ll smash it!
